Draft, October 2026: to be reviewed before Calder Care launches.
Privacy
Calder Care holds sensitive information about someone you look after: their health, medications and daily care. This page says plainly what we keep, who sees it and how to remove it.
Who sees what
- Everything about a person in care (their profile, care plan, medications, contacts, tasks, log, calendar and messages) is visible only to the people on their care team, and the database itself enforces this, not just the app.
- Organizers (usually the person who set the team up) decide who's on the team and what each person may do. Viewers can read and message but not change anything.
- We (the people who make Calder Care) don't look at your care data except when you ask us to help with a problem, or when the law requires it.
What we keep
- Your account: your email address (to sign you in with a code) or your Sign in with Apple identity, your name as the team sees it, and optionally a phone number for the team.
- What your team enters: the person's details, care plan, medications, contacts, tasks and who checked them off, log entries (which may include health details such as vitals and incidents), calendar events and messages.
- Notifications: if you allow them, your device's notification token, so we can tell you about messages and incidents.
- Subscriptions: Apple handles payment; we see whether a subscription is active, never your card.
We don't sell your information, show ads, or use advertising or analytics tools. We don't use care data to train AI models.
Where it's kept
Calder Care's data is stored with Supabase (in the United States), encrypted in transit and at rest. Sign-in emails are sent by our email provider. These companies process data only to run Calder Care for us.
Deleting
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Patient › Account › Delete account) or by asking us. Your profile, devices and team places are deleted. What you wrote in a team's log stays on that person's record without your name. If you set up a team and nobody else organizes it, that person's whole record is deleted with your account; if another organizer exists, the team passes to them.
Health information
Calder Care is a tool for families and the people they work with. It isn't a medical provider, and it is not designed for use by hospitals or clinics to store patient records under HIPAA. Some U.S. states (for example Washington's My Health My Data Act) give you extra rights over health data: you can ask us what we hold and have it deleted.
Children
Calder Care accounts are for adults (18+). A care team may be about a person of any age.
